Target Audience:

En-Safe (1992) WHMIS/GHS training is primarily targeted for workers that perform tasks involving hazardous materials. The training may also be known as WHMIS, GHS, HAZCOM, or WHMIS 2015.

Training can be customized to include policies, procedures, and/or equipment specific to your organization.

Design Criteria that may apply:

In addition to applicable legislation and CSA Z1001 (Occupational health and safety training) and ANSI® Z490.1 (ANSI Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training):

Is there a pre-requisite required?

No, there is no pre-requisite required.

Is the training transferable from Employer to Employer?

No, En-Safe (1992) training is not intended to be transferable from employer to employer. Training is also typically tailored to participants needs.

I thought the training was 15 to 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hour etc.?

En-Safe (1992) conducts defensible training to meet the applicable Standards. There is not a legislative duration for WHMIS/GHS training. For alternatives, refer to SafetyABC.

Is the training acknowledged in other jurisdictions?

WHMIS/GHS is Federal Legislation. The training could be supplemented with post-training application instruction, applicable to the appropriate legislative jurisdiction, delivered by a Competent Person. Some restrictions may apply. The jurisdiction where the training is conducted, is covered (i.e. Ontario)

How long is the training valid for?

There is a 3 year recommended expiry for the En-Safe (1992) course.

Does the Participant require an Annual review?

In our opinion there is misconception in the industry as for the legislative requirement that an Employee is required to receive an annual review, however we strongly recommend it. See SafetyABC for alternative solutions.

Does it include TDG training?

SafetyABC conducts TDG training, and the training can be combined with other courses.

Can emergency simulations be included in the training?

Absolutely, it is encouraged.
